Claim and Use Your Rewards
How you receive rewards on canoLiq depends on how you take part. Most rewards need no claim at all; only unstaking cCNPY has a waiting period.
| You are | Your rewards arrive | To use them |
|---|---|---|
| A cCNPY holder (you staked on canoliq.org) | In the exchange rate: each cCNPY redeems for more CNLQ every block | Unstake, wait ~3.5 days, then claim CNLQ |
| A committee-29 validator or delegator on chain 1 | As CNLQ in your address's balance on chain 29, every block | Nothing to claim: the CNLQ is already liquid |
| A validator or delegator with a record on chain 29 | Added to your stake if it compounds, otherwise to your output address | Unstake: released after 2 blocks |
cCNPY holders
Your cCNPY balance doesn't change. What changes is its value: every block, rewards raise the exchange rate, so each cCNPY redeems for more CNLQ. There is nothing to claim while you hold.
To turn cCNPY back into CNLQ:
- On canoliq.org, open Unstake, enter an amount of cCNPY and confirm in FleetWallet. The cCNPY is burned and a redemption is queued at the current rate.
- Wait for the redemption window: 30,240 blocks, about 3.5 days. Your pending redemptions and their unlock block are listed on the Unstake page and under My position on the dashboard.
- Once it has matured, press Claim on the Unstake page. The CNLQ is paid to your address on chain 29.
Unstaking and claiming each cost a 0.01 CNLQ network fee, so keep a little liquid CNLQ on chain 29.
You don't have to unstake to move your position. Transfer on canoliq.org, or Send cCNPY in FleetWallet, sends cCNPY to another address, and it keeps earning for whoever holds it.
To see what you have earned, connect FleetWallet on the dashboard and open My position. It shows your rewards from your own stakes and the rate at each one.
Committee-29 validators and delegators on chain 1
Committee 29 is run by validators bonded for it on the Canopy root chain (chain 1), and their delegators. Chain 29 pays them in CNLQ:
- Committee rewards are credited straight to your address's balance on chain 29, every block, with no transaction.
- The canoLiq validator incentive is 15% of the protocol fee. Since block 60,000 it is also credited to the balance of each block's proposer, so the operators producing blocks receive it in proportion to their stake over time.
Your address is the same on both chains, so these rewards are already liquid CNLQ at your chain-1 address, on chain 29. There is nothing to claim. To use them:
- Import your validator key into FleetWallet. On a new wallet, use Import keystore / key file; in a wallet you already use, open the account menu → Add account → Import private key → Key file. Both accept a
keystore.json(with its password) or a node'svalidator_key.json. - In Settings → Canopy environment, choose canoLiq mainnet (chain 29). Your CNLQ balance appears.
- From there you can send CNLQ, stake it on canoliq.org for cCNPY, or trade it on Canopy's DEX.
To track what you earn, open your address on the dashboard's Committee 29 page. The CNLQ rewards panel shows the last 24 hours, the last 7 days, the total, and your current rate per block.
Your CNPY rewards on chain 1 are separate, and follow Canopy's own rules.
Validators and delegators with a record on chain 29
A validator or delegate record staked directly on chain 29 earns through Canopy's native staking:
- With compound on, rewards are added to the staked amount.
- With compound off, rewards go to the record's output address, less Canopy's early-withdrawal penalty (20%).
To free the stake, send a Canopy unstake for the record. On chain 29 the funds are released to the output address after 2 blocks.
canoLiq's own owned bond is a chain-29 record too, but its output address has no key: it can never be withdrawn, and everything it earns goes to cCNPY holders.
